Uncommon Giving
Behind a wall Profiles are public but hidden from search engines (noindex), and giving needs a donor login.
Uncommon Giving, a workplace-giving and donor-advised fund platform, publishes a public profile with a Give Now button for each US charity, built from the IRS file. The profiles are kept out of search, and giving needs a donor account, so outsiders are unlikely to land on one. Bring Change to Mind and To Be Heard Foundation each confirmed they never registered for the profile carrying their name.
The checklist
What we have checked on Uncommon Giving, what we found, and what it rests on.
- 1. Off-domain Yes
Profiles sit at app.uncommongiving.com/np/<charity-name>.
Basis: Dated evidence bundle - 2. Auto-generated Yes
39 of 40 random tiny charities had a profile, none claimed. The help center says the database "is automatically populated with all IRS-approved 501(c)(3) organizations in good standing."
Basis: Dated evidence bundle - 3. No consent Yes
Each unclaimed profile carries a "Claim nonprofit" link. Bring Change to Mind confirmed on 2026-10-06, and To Be Heard Foundation on 2026-10-07, that they never registered; both profiles were live with Give Now.
Basis: Dated evidence bundle - 4. Takes gifts Yes
Behind a login. Every unclaimed sample profile shows Give Now and amount tiles; choosing one leads to a donor sign-in. We did not go past it.
Basis: Dated evidence bundle - 5. Intermediary Yes
Gifts are processed through Uncommon Charitable Impact, a donor-advised fund sponsor, and its terms say "UCI has ultimate discretion on how to charitably disburse such funds".
Basis: Dated evidence bundle - 6. Search-indexed No
Every profile is marked noindex in the page code, no profile is in the sitemap, and search crawlers are served a blank page. Google showed one result for the whole app domain and 0 of 10 sampled charities.
Basis: Dated evidence bundle
